Part of the larger 76-acre Azusa Wilderness Park in the Azusa Canyon, the Azusa Wilderness Park Entry project includes approximately 6.5 acres of zoned open space along the San Gabriel River at the north end of Azusa on Highway 39. The project has been designed by Withers & Sandgren, LTD. Additional construction elements include water and sewer utility lines, bioswale and other nature-based drainage construction, landscape planting, and irrigation.
The San Gabriel River Center & Gardens project is being developed by the WCA in coordination with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, and Page & Turnbull. The project is an approximately two-acre (86,000 square feet) site located on the east side of the San Gabriel River, and immediately adjacent west of the 605 Freeway. The project seeks to transform the site into a water-wise educational resource and visitor center for the public. The Center will include opportunities for local art, local water resource information, interactive features, multilingual signage, and park programming.
Skanska is currently partnering with RMC to provide program management services for both the SELA Cultural Center and Alondra Gateway Park projects in Los Angeles. Designed by Gehry Partners, SELA is a first-of-its-kind multi-arts facility located in South Gate along the Los Angeles River and is the first of seven signature projects from the Lower Los Angeles River Revitalization Plan (LLARRP) to comprehensively transform the Los Angeles River.
