The Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Season announces the 2024-25 Season Opener - Sunday October 6, 2024 at 4pm at Bethel Congregational Church in Ontario California.
ONTARIO, Calif. - Californer -- 🎶 **Exciting Announcement from the Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus!** 🎶
We are thrilled to invite you to the opening concert of our 2024-2025 Season! Join us as we embark on a musical journey of Power and Passion under the expert direction of our esteemed Music Director and Conductor, Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann.
Prepare to be enchanted by a spectacular evening of sublime performances and captivating compositions. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the magic of live orchestral and choral music at its finest.

LOCATION: BETHEL CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 536 N Euclid Ave, Ontario CA 91762. We are thrilled to present this powerful concert in this beautiful and historic venue.

Our Program includes music of Gabriel Urban Fauré' - the "Cantique de Jean Racine" and "Requiem in D minor", Op. 48, with soloists Coril Prochnow, soprano and Michal Dawson Connor, baritone, as well as the "Elegie" for Cello and Orchestra, with soloist Jocelyn Francis, our principal cellist, and featuring student conductor Adam Timney (winner of the 23-24 Season Finale Conducting prize).
In addition, we present works by living composers: the World Premiere of "Daring Voyage", by composer and SSO violinist Noah Cisneros; and "The Heavenly Country" for Cello and Strings, by Michal Dawson Connor, again featuring principal cellist Jocelyn Francis.

Parking is available on nearby streets, and there is a parking behind the church (entrance on F St.) Sometimes there is also parking available just south of the church in the lot between E and F Streets (on the east side of Euclid). More public lots are available on the west side of Euclid, behind the businesses (a short walk across the street).
Get your tickets early (these events sometimes fill up!). There will be limited availability at the door.
