A Sophisticated Alternative to the Traditional Crowded Wedding Fair

CHICO, Calif. - Californer -- The Westport, Downtown Chico's newest landmark event venue, successfully hosted its inaugural Wedding Vendor Showcase last night. Eschewing the typical loud and crowded atmosphere of large-scale wedding expos, the event offered a simplified, boutique experience for couples seeking a more intentional and organized approach to wedding planning.

The showcase was designed specifically for "purposeful visits," allowing future brides and grooms to connect deeply with a hand-selected group of the region's premier wedding professionals. By focusing on the "best of the best" in a refined setting, the evening removed the stress of traditional fairs, making the planning process easy and elegant for attendees.

The evening featured several live highlights that showcased the venue's three distinct spaces:
  • The Ballroom: George from K Custom Clothier and For Elyse presented a sophisticated fashion show, highlighting the latest trends in groomsmen and bridesmaids' attire with DJ Mark Morris curating the energy of the ballroom, demonstrating the venue's superior acoustics and atmosphere for a high-end reception.
  • The Conservatory: The sun-drenched Conservatory was transformed into a gallery of wedding inspiration. Premier vendors, including Special Times Catering, Hosted, Amy Waltz Designs, and Little Red Hen Floral, utilized the light-filled space to showcase intricate tablescapes and artisanal floral designs. The open, airy layout of the Conservatory allowed for genuine, face-to-face interactions, giving wedding parties the rare opportunity to discuss their visions in-depth with the region's top professionals without the rush of a typical crowded expo.
  • The Library: The Sun Followers provided a live musical backdrop along with Mas Amor Catering, allowing the intimate acoustics and general vibe of the Library space to shine.
  • Artisanal Refreshments: Guests enjoyed specialty pours from Grayson at 86'd Cocktails, Italian Guy Catering, Mim's Cakery and so many more, emphasizing the venue's focus on high-quality, local craft experiences.

"We wanted to create a space where couples didn't feel like just another number in a crowd," said Sara Barroso, Co-Owner of The Westport. "Our showcase was about quality over quantity—giving couples a quiet, beautiful environment to meet the experts who will actually bring their vision to life. The organized, calm flow of the evening allowed for real conversations and meaningful connections."
