HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Californer -- Although Black History Month is ending, UKW Media continues its ongoing mission to highlight stories about the African American cultural heritage and to support Black filmmakers in telling stories of all kinds. UKW Media is thrilled to be streaming A LOVELY DAY, an uplifting documentary about 9 youths in a tough Oakland neighborhood, who find their voices through a hip hop workshop run by community based organization, Beats Rhythm & Life.

Continuing our journey into musical history, UKW Media is streaming THELONIOUS MONK IN PALO ALTO, a documentary that delves into an historic concert by jazz great Monk, to a largely white audience, in a tense and racially charged era.  Rounding out our offering are dramas DEATH OF A PROPHET (Morgan Freeman as Malcolm X), THE JACKIE ROBINSON STORY (starring Jackie Robinson as himself), thrillers BY DESIGN directed by Jou Jou Papailler and IMMINENT directed by Travis Brown, action with Teresa Graves in GET CHRISTIE LOVE, and Robert Hooks, Billy Dee Williams and Richard Pryor in WWII drama BLACK BRIGADE.
