SAN FRANCISCO, May 7, 2025 ~ Today marks the official launch of VC Mastermind™, a private global network and podcast designed exclusively for top-tier venture capital managing partners. Founded by Jacob Mullins, a 20-year veteran of the Silicon Valley startup tech and venture capital industry, VC Mastermind aims to provide premium insights, peer exchange, and operational best practices for senior decision-makers at VC firms managing $50 million to $5 billion of institutional capital.
Mullins, who spent a decade as a startup founder and the past 10 years as a venture capitalist at Shasta Ventures and Village Global, saw a clear need for such a network. "There's no playbook for building a great venture firm," he explains. "Most GPs are entrepreneurs themselves – scaling funds, managing teams, and trying to deliver returns in increasingly global and volatile markets." After numerous conversations with fellow GPs across cities like San Francisco, Tokyo, Dubai, and Mexico City, Mullins had the idea for VC Mastermind.
The network aims to fill a growing need for trusted dialogue among GPs navigating an ever-evolving industry. Through its members-only podcast and private events, VC Mastermind offers actionable strategies from Silicon Valley insiders and global venture leaders.

Mullins emphasizes that the network is specifically tailored to serve those actively shaping the future of venture capital. "GPs today are dealing with more operational complexity, tougher fundraising conditions, and rising LP expectations," he says. "VC Mastermind exists to support these individuals with unfiltered insight on what's really working inside the world's best-performing firms."
Membership benefits include access to a private weekly podcast featuring firm-building insights and guest interviews with leading GPs, COOs, and fund strategists. Members can also participate in monthly live virtual roundtables on topics such as secondaries, succession planning, and new product development. In-person events will also be held in cities including San Francisco, New York, Mexico City, London, Dubai, and Tokyo. Additionally, members will have access to a trusted vendor directory and concierge support for firm operations and growth.
Early podcast guests include leaders from Greenhill, DLA Piper, 500 Global, Dolby Family Ventures, Strut Consulting, and other experts in the venture capital industry across the U.S., Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.
