Partnership outlines a new approach to providing comprehensive financial education and resources to workforce
VENTURA, Calif. - Californer -- Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) has launched a new financial resource program designed to give County of Ventura employees centralized access to financial education, counseling and exclusive benefits through the county's employee benefit portal. The new financial education and resource portal offers financial tools including Enrich financial education, free financial counseling from GreenPath and special offers for county employees.
"VCCU has long offered financial resources to county employees, but we wanted to explore ways to broaden that program," said Arturo Zaragoza, VCCU's assistant vice president, financial wellness and product innovation. "By stepping outside the conventional partnership framework, we've been able to provide a free service that puts approachable financial wellness directly in the hands of county employees and create a model that can be replicated for other employers looking to do the same for their workforce."

Through the program, employees gain access to a personalized dashboard where they can complete a financial wellness check-up, which generates a personalized plan with guidance and structure to help them meet their financial goals.
A key component of the program is free, one-on-one financial counseling, available on employees' own time. This gives employees direct access to personalized support as they navigate financial stressors, whether they need help creating a debt management plan and paying down debt or want to proactively prepare for milestones such as managing student loans or purchasing their first home.
Employees also have access to financial education on topics such as meeting savings goals, building emergency funds, planning for retirement and budgeting. These courses, articles, quick-start guides and webinars allow employees to learn at a pace and in a format that works for them, while guided meditation, financial journaling and a stress tracker provide additional tools to help manage the emotional impacts of financial stress.

"VCCU proposed a thoughtful model that works seamlessly with our existing employee benefit portals," said Patty Zoll, program manager at the County of Ventura. "The program takes a holistic approach to financial wellness, supporting employees with financial education while helping them navigate the financial stresses many people face today. We are proud to offer the county's workforce a resource that meets them where they are and helps them plan for their future."
The program also includes exclusive county employee discounts on home, vehicle and personal loans. VCCU has partnered with Kirby Auto Group to provide a special discount and is working to expand partnerships with additional county businesses to grow this program.
