Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Holiday Weekend Live & In-Person

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Walker Entertainer Academy presents the live, in-person annual Indigenous Film Retreats (IFR) honoring Indigenous Peoples' Holiday weekend October 9th-11th, 2021 at the Residence Inn by Marriott, 9299 Haven Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA. In-person short film marketing retreat highlights the exploration of Independent Short Film through screenings and workshops. Free admission requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination and physical distancing. Sponsored by Total Sanitizer.

Collectively called the IFR hosted by Founder Phillip E. Walker, this independent artist gathering focuses on four short films each day showcasing and discussing each film's marketing. Events include 'Hollywood Actor Jobs' discussion led by Phillip, Keynote Discussion 'Diversity and Inclusion Employment in Hollywood' with Paul Sinacore of Paul Sinacore Casting LLC, an Award Ceremony and Sunday night Dance Party with DJ Q-Nice.

Judges include: Mark Ruppert-48 Hour Film Project, Pat Trimmer-Independent Empire, Paul Sinacore-CSA, Adilah Barnes-SAG actress and DJ Q-Nice.

Phillip E. Walker earned his Acting MFA in Residence with San Francisco Mime Troupe. The 2020-2021 Season brought 20 Best Actor Awards from indie film festivals including Brooklyn International Cinafest, La Dolce Vita Cine Roma, Sydney's Wonderland International Film Festival and India's 24 Hours Film Challenge Best Actor of the Year. Past work includes co-starring in Marvel TV's 'Legion', HBO's 'Westworld', 'Sharp Objects', Hero in an Edward's Health commercial and featured principal dancer in Justin Timberlake's music video 'Can't Stop The Feeling!'. Upcoming work includes guest-starring role in the upcoming feature film 'Moon Garden'. Phillip's 'Entry Level Acting in LA' full-time employment workbook launched in Hollywood's Grauman's Egyptian Theater is the basis of Saturday's IFR Workshop.

Keynote Speaker Paul Sinacore is a casting director, producer, visual anthropologist, academic documentary researcher, ethnographer, SAG/AFTRA actor, professional drummer with an academic research background in Psychology and Anthropology (Honors Graduate, UCLA, B.A.). An expert on real people casting and ethnographic person-centered interviewing for commercial, television, film, voice-over and music videos, connecting directors to talent through diversity and inclusion in an ever-changing commercial entertainment market. Paul recently cast 'In Ice Cold Blood' with Ice-T for Oxygen and currently casting 'Unsolved Mysteries' for Netflix.
