SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Warrior Foundation Freedom Station is honored to sponsor the 9th Annual Brad Rich Invitational Tournament, taking place February 6–8, 2026, at San Diego SOL, with Opening Ceremonies hosted Thursday evening, February 5, at SeaWorld San Diego. Hosted by San Diego's own Wolfpack Wheelchair Basketball Team, which is proudly sponsored by Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, this highly anticipated event will bring together 16 national wheelchair basketball teams for a weekend of elite competition, camaraderie, and inspiration.

The tournament officially kicks off with opening ceremonies Thursday night at SeaWorld San Diego, a new feature of the invitational that offers players, supporters, volunteers, staff and community members a memorable evening celebrating adaptive athletes, honoring service and setting the tone for an impactful weekend of competition. The event will include complimentary park passes for all players, generously provided by SeaWorld San Diego, followed by a hosted dinner, team pictures and a celebration recognizing athletes, sponsors and tournament personnel.

The tournament is named in honor of SSgt Brad Rich (U.S. Marine Ret.), who served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and was a dedicated member of the Wolfpack team. In 2012, Brad was diagnosed with spinal cancer, which later metastasized to his brain. Brad passed away in 2015, leaving behind an enduring legacy of strength, perseverance, and determination.

The Brad Rich Invitational is more than just a game. It embodies the belief that Warriors are not defined by their disabilities, but by their spirit. The tournament showcases adaptive sports athletes whose determination, teamwork, and skill inspire all who watch them compete.

The Wolfpack Wheelchair Basketball Team, sponsored by Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, provides its players with opportunities for mental and physical wellness, self-confidence, and a strong sense of belonging. The team fosters camaraderie, teamwork, and purpose. These values were foundational during their military service and continue to guide them beyond the uniform.
