Coming of Age in Yellowstone National Park tells the story of Dan Johnson, a young man from a conservative Midwestern family, who works for a summer in the early 1970s as a bellman at the iconic Old Faithful Inn. From his adventures with the natural wonders and wildlife of Yellowstone to the development of friendships with coworkers (Savages) from around the United States to having to confront certain prior beliefs and practices, Dan Johnson experiences a summer in Yellowstone National Park that will truly change his life.

David Huffman spent six years in Yellowstone while in college and law school before practicing as a family law attorney in San Diego for forty-two years. He is now retired and resides in San Diego with his wife.
