Welcoming President Biden to Long Beach

Earlier this week, Long Beach had the honor of hosting President Joe Biden during his first trip to California since taking office. The President landed at the Long Beach Airport for an event in the city and stayed the night in Downtown Long Beach.

Our city has been hailed as a national model by the President and leaders across the country for the work we have done to get our community vaccinated, and we're grateful for the distinction of being one of the very first places on the West Coast visited by President Biden during his term.

I am so proud of our city for pulling together to get through this pandemic, for supporting our small businesses, and for being the beacon for diversity and inclusiveness that we are. While the President was in town, our city landmarks were lit red, white and blue to celebrate the historic moment. I want to thank everyone who helped ensure the President's visit was a success.

Long Beach is an amazing, diverse and welcoming city and I am so proud that we were able to put our community on full display for the President.
