Disability becomes Beauty becomes Art becomes Change Resonates with UCLA Students and the Los Angeles Community
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Bold Beauty Project (BBP), a nonprofit creating powerful photography exhibitions celebrating women with varying disabilities, has engaged with an extraordinary team of students at UCLA for an exhibition being held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the UCLA Kerckhoff Coffee House, 308 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA from 3:00-5:00 pm. The free exhibition of large-scale photographs by student and award-winning photographers, coupled with the women's personal stories and photographer's narratives, create vivid and intimate portraits of extraordinary women. The photographic works spark creativity, inspire deep emotion, and reimagine beauty in our world.
"We are thrilled to be collaborating with UCLA students to bring the Bold Beauty Project to their community. As an UCLA alumna, I am proud and honored to be involved to present women with disabilities as beautiful and empowered. The UCLA student team has been deeply committed and have embraced BBP's mission to create a superlative exhibition through photography and narrative expression," said Eva Ritvo, MD, Co-director of BBP. "In order to further our mission, in addition to having exhibitions across the country and abroad, it is important that we expand the Bold Beauty Project to college and university campuses to empower young women, involve emerging student and award-winning photographers, and engage with their communities. BBP has had university exhibitions at the University of Miami, Florida International University, Columbia University and Yale University. We are deeply grateful to our supporters and donors for enabling us to reach wider audiences and make a meaningful impression on the greater public."
