Five Points Youth Foundation President Andrew Williams Jr. Marks Decade of Global and Local Impact in South Los Angeles and Beyond

LOS ANGELES - Californer -- Los Angeles, CA – Five Points Youth Foundation (FPYF) proudly celebrates 10 years of active membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Through official Communications on Engagement  published on the UNGC website and successive action plans, FPYF has proven how a grassroots foundation in South Los Angeles can be a global force for sustainable development.

Since its founding membership, FPYF has built a Worldwide Community Resiliency Network of Goodwill Ambassadors  linking NGOs and SMEs in the Western Hemisphere, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa:

- Advocated for regenerative design and urban innovation Professor Marcela Oliva's Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC)'s Encounter Think Tank, SOM Architects, Pando Populus, Black Emergency Managers (BEMA) International, the Universal Hip Hop Museum, and others.

"Our Communications on Engagement are not just reports—they are living commitments," said President Williams Jr. "They show how South Los Angeles can influence global agendas, linking local grassroots action impacting the UNGC Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). globally"

Looking Ahead: This Place LA and Tourism4SDGs for the Olympics and Beyond
As part of its Tourism4SDGs commitment, FPYF is launching This Place LA—a 50' x 90' outdoor community entertainment and event venue featuring a 100-yard alleyway Graffiti Exhibit of cultural icons, curated annually by KingCre8 with a "Paint-A-Thon" on the last Saturday of every August since 2016, this year on August 25, 2025.

This space available for weekend rentals will host and stream monthly hybrid (live and virtual) events that spotlight youth, arts, and SDG-aligned storytelling. These activations will build toward global milestones including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.

The August 30 celebration at "This Place LA" honors FPYF's 10-year journey, spotlighting partners, youth ambassadors, and international allies. This 10th Annual "Paint-A-Thon" will also celebrate FPYF Founder Diane E. Watson — former Congresswoman and Ambassador to Micronesia — alongside LA Hip Hop Pioneer DJ SilkyD Williams, honoring her 10 years as FPYF International Goodwill Ambassador, Community Activists and Cultural Icons.
