Proceeds from the tournament help support the YMCA's "Find My Genius" program, a free after-school and five-week summer program for low- and moderate-income students.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Californer -- The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is hosting its "On Course For A Cause" 11th Annual Golf Classic. The tournament is on Monday, October 27, at Moorpark Country Club.
The title sponsor for the tournament is Amoroso Companies.
Events for the day begin at 9:00 a.m. with registration, breakfast, a putting contest and an open driving range. The tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Mini contests take place continuously during tournament play. Food and drinks are provided throughout the entire tournament thanks to the generosity of local restaurants. The day ends later in the afternoon with a reception, no-host bar, and awards and contest winners' presentations.

The program provides students with academic instruction, healthy meals, physical exercise and enrichment opportunities. Over 500 young scholars participated in the 2025 summer session.

The Southeast Ventura County's two branches, Yarrow Family YMCA and Simi Valley Family YMCA, serve Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark and Simi Valley. Its mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
"The YMCA's goal is to nurture the potential and improve the health of every youth, teen and adult in our community," says Ronnie Stone, YMCA president and CEO. "The funds we raise from the golf tournament go a long way towards that goal."
