Due to his head injury in 2001, it is only appropriate that Gerritt Beatty dedicate his Eagle project to the men and women who helped him out. We need to honor these brave men and women who place their lives on the line every day.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Californer -- Thousand Oaks, CA - Boy Scout Gerritt Beatty of Troop 765 is planning to build a First Responders Memorial dedicated to the men and women of the Fire, Police and EMS. These people are the first ones to respond to danger, injury and destruction. We should honor them for their service.

He is trying to raise $15,000 to build this memorial in the Fire Training facility in Camarillo, CA. Statues are being built but we still need more money to meet the goals of the project. Gerritt fell and hit his head in 2021 and required brain surgery to save his life. Without the quick effort by first responders, he may not have made it to his 17th birthday. It is only fitting he dedicate his Eagle project to these first responders. Today, he is a strong member of his boy scout troop and straight A student at NPAA High School.

The project will setup three statues, one fire, one police and one EMS on a concrete pad with a flag and rock with plaque dedicating the memorial.
