~ Sacramento, CA - Tomorrow marks a significant day for California as the state's American Innovation Coin honoring Steve Jobs goes into circulation. Governor Gavin Newsom, who selected Jobs to represent California in the U.S. Mint's American Innovation Coin Program, celebrated the public release of the coin today.
The visionary entrepreneur and inventor, known for his tenacity and fearless pursuit of the California Dream, has left a lasting impact on technology and modern life. As co-founder of Apple and CEO of Pixar Animation Studios, Jobs helped pioneer products such as the Apple II, Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. In 2018, the U.S. Mint launched the American Innovation $1 Coin Program to honor groundbreaking innovations and innovators from every U.S. state, territory, and the District of Columbia.
