~ TUOLUMNE COUNTY - In response to the devastating TCU Lightning Complex fires that swept through the area in September, Governor Gavin Newsom has taken swift action to expedite recovery and rebuilding efforts in Tuolumne County. The governor issued an executive order today, aimed at streamlining the removal and cleanup of debris and hazardous materials from affected properties.

The executive order not only accelerates the cleanup process, but also ensures that public health and environmental protections are in place. This reflects Governor Newsom's commitment to addressing local concerns and providing necessary tools for communities to recover safely.

"We will continue to look for ways to support Californians impacted by the TCU Lightning Complex fires as they clean up and rebuild," said Governor Newsom. To aid survivors of the fires, a Local Assistance Center was established with support from the state. This center connected residents with critical services and resources for recovery. Additionally, Governor Newsom secured federal assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), providing low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, and small businesses looking to rebuild.
