SACRAMENTO ~ Governor Gavin Newsom has expressed his sadness at the passing of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, describing her as a "political giant" and a "role model".
In a statement released today, Governor Newsom said that Senator Feinstein was "many things - a powerful, trailblazing U.S. Senator; an early voice for gun control; a leader in times of tragedy and chaos". He also described her as a "dear friend" and "lifelong mentor" to him and his wife Jennifer, as well as their daughters.
