SACRAMENTO ~ Governor Gavin Newsom of Sacramento has expressed his disappointment in the United States Supreme Court's decision to roll back protections for waterways and wetlands under the federal Clean Water Act. He believes that this decision will cause more people to suffer from the ills of polluted water across the country. Newsom also stated that California has adopted some of the strongest laws in this country to protect their waters and environment, and they will continue enforcing their own laws vigorously. This comes as much of the United States is experiencing weather extremes from historic droughts to flooding to wildfires, all caused by climate change.
