SAN LEANDRO, Calif. - Californer -- Carrington College San Leandro is pleased to announce Corey Watson as the new Criminal Justice: Corrections Program Director. With more than 30 years of experience in the field, Watson is responsible for supervising instructors, teaching classes, and building the program with a focus on student success.
Prior to joining Carrington College, Watson served as an Area Commander with the rank of Major at International Security Inc. where he directly managed all the security contracts in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia, including 250 security officers and special police officers. He also served the Butler County Sheriff's Office for 20 years in corrections, court services, patrol, investigations, and as a motor officer, lead explorer advisor, K9 supervisor, school resource officer and criminal justice instructor. He spent six years working for the Federal Reserve Police Department as a Lieutenant Watch Commander in San Francisco and Captain/Acting Chief Operations Commander for Los Angeles. He supervised background investigators, the K9 team, and Executive Protection Team Special Operations.

"My immediate goal is to build the program up and sustain it with quality students that will make positive contributions to the criminal justice field and greater community," said Watson. "I like teaching students and sharing the wonderful world of criminal justice with them both through my experiences and with what criminal justice has to offer today," added Watson.
As a member of The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Watson is well connected to other professionals throughout the industry who can share their experiences on how best to serve their local communities.
Over the years Watson has received Police Academy Top Academic Honors, three lifesaving awards, three commendation awards, three education awards, and one Deputy of the Quarter while being nominated for the award of "Deputy of the Year" within his local department. He was also appointed as Senior/Lead Lieutenant for Watch Operations during the Super Bowl in San Francisco, Calif.
