~ Long Beach City Health Officer Dr. Anissa Davis has taken action to protect the health of residents and visitors by issuing a rain advisory for recreational beaches and bays in the City of Long Beach. This decision comes after the city experienced significant rainfall in the last 24 hours.
According to Dr. Davis, the increased runoff from storm drain outlets and rivers due to the rain can lead to unhealthy conditions at the city's beaches. As a precautionary measure, she advises that recreational swimming areas should be avoided for three days following the end of a rainstorm. If the rain continues, this advisory will be extended.
