~ Long Beach City Health Officer Dr. Anissa Davis has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of beachgoers in the City of Long Beach. In light of the recent rainfall, Dr. Davis has issued a rain advisory for all recreational beaches and bays in the area.

According to Dr. Davis, heavy rainfall can lead to unhealthy conditions due to increased runoff from storm drain outlets and rivers that eventually reach the city's beaches. As a result, recreational swimming areas should be avoided for at least three days after a rainstorm.
