Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach celebrated the grand reopening of the renovated Kids' Corner at the Multi-Service Center (MSC) on Tuesday. This vital space, designed to support families experiencing homelessness, was revamped with the help of partners Leadership Long Beach and Gensler.
Mayor Rex Richardson and other City leaders were in attendance to showcase the improved space, which now offers children a welcoming environment for reading, play, and learning. Mayor Richardson expressed his pride in being able to provide a safe and welcoming space for children while their parents receive services at the MSC.
The newly renovated Kids' Corner features updated reading areas, interactive learning stations, and a welcoming space for children of all ages. This renovation aligns with the City's commitment to providing accessible and engaging resources for families, with a focus on fostering early childhood development, encouraging parent-child interaction, and creating a positive sensory experience.
In addition to the physical improvements made to the space, Gensler also donated nearly 200 backpacks filled with crayons, coloring sheets, and small toys. These gifts will provide comfort to children as they leave the MSC after their visit.
