Dbvisit, a global leader in Disaster Recovery solutions, today announced an exciting new option to extend Disaster Recovery environments for Oracle Standard Edition companies.
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - Californer -- Dbvisit's flagship product, Dbvisit Standby allows DBAs to quickly and easily set up automated standby environments so production can be rapidly restored should an unexpected outage or disaster occur.
The new Dbvisit Standby Snapshot Option now allows customers to take snapshots of their standby database for use with development or QA testing, application upgrade testing, and for setting up reporting environments for business teams.
This reduces the resource requirements on production environments and reduces business risk for companies. It means large, complex reports can be run without causing unexpected resource loads on critical environments, while testing teams can quickly access up to date data to complete accurate testing rather than scheduling a request for a data extraction.

Mark Otten, Dbvisit Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Dbvisit was founded on the basis of maximizing its customers' investment in their DR environments. Our new Snapshot Option allows the wider business units to access important data for testing and reporting purposes without risking impact on the production environment."
Anton Els, Dbvisit Chief Technology Officer, added, "Common feedback from both our customers and partners was the challenge in trying to manage production environments with competing needs from business groups. In the meantime there was a standby database that contained the information they were seeking. So we took this idea to the development team and created our new Snapshot Option."
The Dbvisit Standby Snapshot Option can be purchased through any of their global partners or directly through Dbvisit.
Dbvisit develops, sells and supports innovative software that protects data stored in Oracle Standard Edition databases.
