Dr. Thomishia Booker, a mental health clinician, introduced a program called "L.I.T. Kids" which fosters literacy and socio-emotional health among children. The program aims to help children find their voice, be comfortable with self-expression, and encourage them to read and write more.
Joining Dr. Booker in this endeavor are psychologist Dr. Donielle Fagan, hip hop and spoken word artist ShySpeaks, and co-hosts of the Appraise The Phrase Show, Mario Hines and Chris "Twenty" Williams. Together, they serve children all over the country, nurturing a love for reading and promoting mental health.
