Juneteenth is a long standing celebration of the day that all United States slaves were informed that they have become free US Citizens. It took 2 1/2 years for negros owned in the most western slave state (Texas) to become aware that the Confederate States of America had lost the Civil War. As a result of that delay in communication, 97 year old US Representative, Opel Lee, has called for the World to commemorate our new National Holiday by annually walking a mile for every year that it took for America to become an actual "free country". Therefore, Walker launches his annual Rancho Cucamonga Juneteenth Walk on June 20, 2022.
