The Florida-born actor-turned-filmmaker blends Southern tradition, military edge, and raw justice in a suspense-filled saga rumored to feature M.C. Gainey.
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- James Pitt, renowned for his compelling performances in Avatar, NCIS, and Close to Home, is making a significant leap behind the camera with his latest project, CRACKER. This original series, set against the rich tapestry of Florida's 500-year-old cattle culture, marks Pitt's evolution from seasoned actor to innovative filmmaker.
CRACKER follows the journey of Matthew "Math" Albritton, a former military operative who, after a harrowing mission in the Middle East, seeks solace on his family's Florida cattle ranch. Unbeknownst to him, he steps into a world rife with corrupt politicians, dangerous mafioso, and a justice system teetering on the edge.

Adding to the series' allure, industry whispers suggest that veteran character actor M.C. Gainey, known for his roles in Django Unchained, Con Air, and Lost, is in talks to join the cast. Gainey's involvement promises to infuse CRACKER with a depth and gravitas that fans have come to expect from his performances.
Pitt's dedication to authenticity is evident not just in his storytelling but also in his personal journey. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Pitt brings a wealth of real-life experience to his work. His accolades include a Best Actor nomination at the 2013 Idyllwild Cinefest for There / Not There and a Best Actor award at the 2023 LA Indies Fest for Because of This, a project he also produced.
Filming for the CRACKER pilot is slated to commence in January 2026, with the project already garnering substantial support from backers in Hollywood & Florida.
