EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - Californer -- After several weeks of tense negotiations, President Joe Biden and House Republicans have reached an agreement to address the debt limit and cap spending. This week, US lawmakers will vote on a deal to suspend the nation's borrowing cap until January 2025, meaning debt can grow beyond the ceiling. The bill caps non-defense spending which funds areas like public education and transportation in fiscal 2024, then increases it by 1% in 2025. Chase Elliott was suspended through next week's Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois., after it was ruled he purposefully crashed into Denny Hamlin during the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte on Monday. Elliott claims it was not an intentional move to hit Hamlin, saying, "Once you hit the wall in these things, you can't drive them anymore. Just an unfortunate circumstance." Tina Turner, the musical behemoth and pioneering soul turned rock star, has died at age 83. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon died at her home in Switzerland after a long illness, according to a statement on her official social media accounts. "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music," reads the statement. Celine Dion announced the cancellation of her "Courage World Tour" dates through 2024 and "will likely never tour again," a source close to Dion told CNN Friday." "She is in a lot of pain," the individual said. "She does daily physical therapy." The disorder is "a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord," according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Celine Dion will likely never tour again, sources say. Elon Musk's company Neuralink announced Thursday that it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct its first-in-human clinical study. "We are excited to share that we have received the FDA's approval to launch our first-in-human clinical study," the company said in a tweet. Musk helped co-found Neuralink, a neurotechnology company working to develop brain implants that could someday help people who are paralyzed walk again, as well as help with other neurological issues.
