~ Los Angeles, CA- The Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) has announced the winner of the LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup, a competition aimed at finding innovative solutions for rebuilding communities affected by wildfires. Reframe Systems, a startup focused on building resilient and sustainable homes using robotics and algorithms, has been awarded $25,000 to pilot their technology in fire-affected areas in the Los Angeles region.
The Cup brought together entrepreneurs from across the country to address the challenges faced by communities, businesses, and governments in the aftermath of the Palisades and Eaton fires in January 2025. With 120 applications received, Reframe Systems was selected as the grand prize winner by a distinguished judging panel for their unique approach to rebuilding homes more sustainably and affordably.
"We are thrilled to have Reframe Systems as our grand prize winner," said Matt Petersen, President and CEO of LACI. "Their innovative technology will not only help communities rebuild more resiliently but also serve as a model for others around the world."

In addition to Reframe Systems, three other startups were recognized for their solutions. Wuuii earned second place and received $15,000 for their solution to reduce wildfire risk for homeowners and insurers. Wildfire Defense Mesh took third place and received $10,000 for their low-cost ember screen solution. AirVitalize and ThermoShade were awarded the Audience Favorite Award and received $5,000 for their combined solution addressing extreme heat and air pollution.
The winners also have the opportunity to double their prize money by securing a pilot deployment partner in Greater Los Angeles. This will allow them to further develop their solutions and make an even greater impact on rebuilding efforts.
The Cup was made possible through partnerships with organizations such as Annenberg Foundation, Bank of America, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Jamestown, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles Unified School District, and Schneider Electric. These partnerships demonstrate a collective effort to support innovative solutions for rebuilding communities.
