Long Beach, CA ~ The Long Beach Golf Hall of Fame will be welcoming two new members, Dana Dahlquist and Troy Grant, on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. The induction ceremony will take place during the closing ceremony of the Long Beach Open Tournament at El Dorado Park Golf Course.
Established in 1996 by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM), the Long Beach Golf Hall of Fame aims to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport in Long Beach. This year's inductees have certainly left their mark on the golfing community and are being honored for their talent, dedication, and inspiration to future generations.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed his congratulations to Dahlquist and Grant on their induction, stating that they have both made lasting impacts on the golfing community in Long Beach. He also acknowledged the city's rich history of producing exceptional athletes and is thrilled to celebrate their contributions.
Parks, Recreation and Marine Director Brent Dennis also praised the inductees, stating that they are an inspiration to all who play golf in Long Beach. He also thanked the Long Beach Golf Hall of Fame Committee for their hard work in selecting Dahlquist and Grant as this year's honorees.

Committee Chairman Bob Livingstone explained that the Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who were born or have lived in Long Beach and excelled at the game or made it better for others. He believes that both Dahlquist and Grant exemplify the best in golf and are deserving of this prestigious honor.
Dana Dahlquist grew up playing at Virginia Country Club but eventually shifted his focus from competing to teaching. He has become known for his ability to connect with players at all levels and utilize cutting-edge technology such as video analysis, Sportsbox AI, Trackman, and force-plate analysis. His coaching career has earned him widespread acclaim, including being ranked as the No. 1 golf teacher in California by Golf Digest in 2024. He has also coached top amateurs and professionals, including Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland, and Beau Hossler. Dahlquist is also raising Long Beach's profile in the national golf instruction community through his recognized coaching certification program.
Troy Grant has been a respected figure in the Long Beach golf community for his playing career and commitment to teaching and mentorship. As the lead instructor at Recreation Park 18 Golf Course, he is known for his passion and ability to connect with players of all ages. Through his Troy Grant Golf Academy, he has guided players from their first swings to high school and college competition. He also offers clinics for the City's Men's and Women's Golf Clubs and donates his time to give back to the community that helped shape him. Grant's impressive playing career includes earning Century Club honors all four years at Lakewood High School, being named the Long Beach Press-Telegram High School Player of the Year, and becoming a state champion at Long Beach City College in 1999. He also made history as the youngest golfer ever to qualify for the Long Beach Open at just 15 years old.
