Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach Public Library Locations to Temporarily Close for Staff Training and Development
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, all 12 Long Beach Public Library locations will be closed to the public for a full day of staff training and development. The closure is part of the library's commitment to providing high-quality services to its patrons.
According to library officials, the closure will allow staff members to participate in valuable training sessions and workshops that will enhance their skills and knowledge. This will ultimately benefit library visitors by improving the overall experience and services offered.

During the one-day closure, library patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the library's digital resources, which include a catalog, downloadable materials, and research databases that are available 24/7. Outdoor book returns will also remain open for those who wish to return items.
The closure will not affect any scheduled programming or events at the library. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, August 28 at all locations.
