~ As Northern California braces for critical fire weather conditions, Governor Gavin Newsom has taken proactive measures to protect communities by approving the predeployment of firefighting resources in Nevada, Sierra, and Plumas counties. The decision comes in response to forecasted dangerous fire weather conditions that are expected to impact the region from Wednesday, July 23 to Friday, July 25, 2025.

A total of 14 fire engines, four water tenders, and two dispatchers have been prepositioned in these counties to ensure a quick response in case of any new fires. This approach has proven to be effective in minimizing the potential impact of wildfires and is a critical component of California's wildfire response strategy.

Governor Newsom urges residents of Nevada, Plumas, and Sierra counties to pay attention to local authorities and be prepared to evacuate if necessary. He states, "The state is again taking proactive measures to protect communities ahead of dangerous fire weather conditions."

This announcement follows the recent prepositioning of resources in Plumas and Sierra counties from July 20 to July 22. The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) reminds residents to stay vigilant during this heightened fire weather period.
