Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach is making strides towards improving stormwater quality and creating usable open space with the Skylinks Regional Stormwater Capture Project. In an effort to keep the community informed, the Department of Public Works will be hosting a community meeting on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the Wardlow Park Community Center.

The meeting, which will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will provide updates on the project's current timeline and unveil the facility's design. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with members of the project team.

The Skylinks Regional Stormwater Capture Project aims to improve stormwater pollutant loads in the Los Cerritos Channel by intercepting dry-weather flow and stormwater runoff and diverting it to an underground concrete infiltration basin with a storage capacity of 2 million gallons. Additionally, elements such as walking trails, benches, native plants, and interpretive signage will be incorporated into the project.
