Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the fall season approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to offer over 700 activities for residents of all ages. Registration for both new and existing recreation classes will begin on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024.
From preschoolers to older adults, there is something for everyone in this season's lineup. The classes cover a wide range of interests including arts, music, nature, fitness, and sports leagues. Residents can register for these classes by visiting lbparks.org and clicking on "Online Registration" under "LB RecConnect," by calling 562.570.3111, or by visiting the Registration Reservations Office at 2760 Studebaker Rd., open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For preschoolers, there are fun options such as Hip Hop Tots for ages 2 years and six months to 5 years old and Little Music Makers for ages 3 to 6 years old. For slightly older children, there is Musical Theater for ages 6 to 13 years old and Keyboard Kids for ages 5 to 6 years old. Traditional Karate is also available for children between the ages of 5 and 16.

Adults can choose from a variety of classes including Ceramics Workshop for those aged 16 and up, as well as dance classes like Two Step and Swing for those aged 18 and up. For those looking for a low-impact workout option, Aerobics Lite is available for adults aged 18 and up.
Older adults are not left out either with options like Senior Line Dancing for those aged 50 and up or Gentle Yoga also available for this age group. One popular class among older adults is Zumba ® Gold which caters specifically to individuals aged 50 years and above.
Classes will begin in September and run through November. Residents can find more information about the classes in the latest issue of the Recreation Connection, PRM's programs catalog, available at LBParks.org or at Long Beach Park Community Centers and Long Beach Public Library locations starting on Aug. 5.
