Long Beach, CA ~ The City of Long Beach is hosting the 5th Annual Ranchos Walk on Saturday, September 23, 2023. This 9.4-mile scenic route connects the highest points in Long Beach and Signal Hill, including Reservoir Hill, Longview Point at Willow Springs Park, and Hilltop Park in Signal Hill. The event will feature a guided audio tour highlighting native plants and three route options: 9.4-mile, 6-mile, and 3.5-mile.

Mayor Rex Richardson said "The Ranchos Walk provides a unique opportunity for the community to come together, explore and enjoy the variety of green spaces Long Beach has to offer. It's a great way to encourage us all to appreciate the beauty of our city by showcasing the unique diversity of our native foliage throughout our city's diverse landscape."

Fourth District Councilman Daryl Supernaw added "We're very excited this year because the Ranchos Walk destination will be Rancho Los Alamitos in our district. Our office is proud to be sponsoring the food for the celebratory event at the end of the walk." Fifth District Councilwoman Megan Kerr also commented "We invite families, friends and nature and history enthusiasts to come out and participate in this fun event."

Free shuttle services will be available to return participants to the start point, main parking lot, and rest stops with staggered start times for consistent shuttle availability. At the end of walk event at Rancho Los Alamitos there will be music, free refreshments, games and activities as well as additional food and beverages available for purchase.

Participants can navigate different routes using their phones with izi.TRAVEL app which is available for download on Apple and Android devices as well as learn about area history and landmarks through an audio tour provided by this app. Participation in this event is free with online registration available at longbeach.gov/ranchoswalk .
