WHO- David Roach, Founder & Executive Director of Oakland International Film Festival, filmmakers from around the world including: Audrey Candy Corn, Peter Menchini, Adimu Madyun, LaTajh Weaver, Ellen Wen, Raymundo Peralta, Shaka Jamal Redmond, Luis Montoya, Arthur Gallery, Tony Jonick, and Doug Werby, Alba Roland Mejia, Darryl Jones, and Oscar Hernandez (Line up subject to change).

WHAT- The Oakland International Film Festival Press Conference Opening Day highlighting films from around the world kicks off the seventeenth year of parties, panels and profound narratives.  (Shortly, after the press conference, and prior to Opening Night Films at the historic Grand Lake Theatre, there will be a film mixer at Cana Bar and Parlor -Media & the public are invited).

WHY-The Oakland International Film Festival highlights Oakland as a destination for the arts.  Oakland has a rich tapestry of artistic talent.  The Oakland International Film Festival affirms First Amendment Freedom of Speech Rights, giving a platform for independent voices.
