Secure online service provides plain-English explanations of veterinary prescriptions and medication labels for dogs, cats, horses, and birds
CAMARILLO, Calif. - Californer -- PetMedEval today announced the launch of PetMedEval.com, an online service designed to help pet owners better understand veterinary prescriptions and medication labels.
Pet owners can take a photo of a prescription or medication label for a dog, cat, horse, or bird, or upload an existing image or document. PetMedEval then provides a structured, plain-English explanation that may include:
"Pet medication labels can be difficult to understand, especially when an owner is already concerned about an animal," said Jonathan Fuld, founder of PetMedEval. "PetMedEval was created to give owners a clearer starting point by helping them understand what appears on the label, identify issues worth discussing, and prepare more useful questions for their veterinarian."

PetMedEval is intended to support medication understanding and communication between pet owners and veterinary professionals. It does not replace professional veterinary care. Pet owners should confirm medication instructions, treatment decisions, and health concerns directly with their veterinarian.
PetMedEval currently supports prescription and medication labels for dogs, cats, horses, and birds. Support for additional species is planned for future releases.
PetMedEval offers prepaid reviews that do not expire. Customers use a review only when the service successfully provides an explanation.
The service was developed for pet owners as well as people who help care for animals, including rescue and shelter volunteers, foster caregivers, pet sitters, boarding professionals, horse-care providers, and others who may assist with veterinary medication instructions.
"PetMedEval keeps the veterinarian at the center of the conversation," Fuld said. "Our goal is to help owners understand the information in front of them and ask better questions about their pet's care."
