With 34 US patents and three decades working for Betz, BetzDearborn, GE Water and Process Technologies, and Suez Water and Technology Solutions, Dr. Vasconcellos has earned a reputation as an industry expert.
ATLANTA - Californer -- ProcessMiner Inc., an artificial intelligence platform for the manufacturing industry, announced today that Dr. Stephen Vasconcellos, Ph.D., has been appointed to the company's Scientific Advisory Board.
"I am delighted to welcome Steve to our scientific board of advisors," said Karim Pourak, Co-founder and CEO of ProcessMiner. "He offers an extensive wealth of knowledge and an advantageous background in liquid and solid separations, wastewater treatment design and optimization, colloid science, polymer characterization and electrokinetics. We look forward to leveraging Steve's expertise and experience as we continue to build out our digital water treatment solutions for ProcessMiner customers."
Dr. Vasconcellos earned a B.S. in chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, and a division member of Colloid and Surface Science and Environmental Chemistry. He completed the IRI Technology Manager Course at Harvard University and GE's TLDC (technical leader development course) in 2016.

In 2007, Dr. Vasconcellos was co-chair of the Coagulants and Flocculants Symposium in Louisville, Ky., and in 2008 was co-chair of the Water Reuse Symposium in Orlando, Fla. In 1994, he earned the Pennsylvania DER Green Award. GE awarded him in 2005 with the "Best of the GE Betz" award and in 2006 with the Edison Award. In 2006, he also earned the Spirit of Innovation Award. In 2015, he was acknowledged by Water Quality Professional magazine as a 20 for 20 icon.
With this appointment, ProcessMiner's Advisory Board now comprises five directors, most of whom are external and independent. Woodall joins ProcessMiner Advisory Board members Jeff Fulgham, Consulting Executive, Corporate Visions, and President, StrategyH2O; Kamran Paynabar, Co-founder and Chief Science Advisor, ProcessMiner; Dr. Bill Woodall, Professor Emeritus of Statistics at Virginia Tech; and Chris Luettgen, Professor of the Practice and Associate Director, Georgia Institute of Technology.
