The acclaimed publisher of literary magazines launches its first book, a stunning collection that establishes its new book publishing arm.
SAN FRANCISCO - Californer -- redrosethorns Ltd. Liability Co., an established publisher behind the acclaimed Thorn & Bloom Magazine and redrosethorns journal, announced today its strategic expansion into book publishing with its inaugural title, To Be (a Woman) by Rachel Turney. This powerful fusion of feminist poetry and visual art is scheduled for publication in the spring of 2026, marking a new chapter for the literary organisation.
To Be (a Woman) examines womanhood through the past, the workplace, relationships, mental health, global travel, and metaphor. Poetry, nonfiction, and storytelling come together in a compelling journey of self-discovery and self-love as a woman.

"After years of curating powerful voices in our magazines and journal, we have built a community that craves deeper, lasting works," said Kirsty Anne Richards, founder and publisher of redrosethorns Ltd. "Expanding into book publishing was the natural step into creating a space for deeper insight into the feminist literature we publish. Rachel's stunning poetry collection was the undeniable choice for our debut, as it embodies the same commitment to examining societal expectations, identity, and mental health. We believe that art and literature hold power in empowering others to build on their self-worth and speak up about issues they face in their day-to-day lives. And we are thrilled to offer this permanent collection to the literary world."
Dr. Rachel Turney, an accomplished author who has been featured in dozens of acclaimed publications, takes a critical eye to the state of womanhood in society. Her perspective is shaped by her time working in higher education, as a global citizen, and as a woman navigating expectations juxtaposed with her reality.
