LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28, 2023 ~ This past weekend, the inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship Finals, fueled by Monster Energy, was held at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The event marked the first collaboration of its kind between Supercross and Pro Motocross in the sports history.
Team Honda HRC's Jett Lawrence was crowned the SMX World Champion after sweeping both premier 450cc class motos. The 20-year-old Australian racer earned a $1,000,000 bonus for his victory. In the 250cc division, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's Haiden Deegan won both motos and the title to claim a $500,000 bonus.
Lawrence's win caps off an impressive 2023 season in which he won every championship he entered to become one of the sport's most high-profile athletes. He began with the Western Regional 250SX crown in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship before making the move into the premier 450cc division for Pro Motocross Championship. He became just the third rider in more than 50 years to complete a perfect, undefeated season and went on to win two of three playoff rounds to outlast Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki's Ken Roczen and Team Honda HRC's Chase Sexton, who was crowned 2023 Supercross Champion.

For Deegan, his victory inside the Coliseum provided a full-circle moment for his popular racing family as his father Brian captured his lone Supercross victory inside that same stadium 26 years prior. Haiden's Rookie of The Year campaign across Supercross and Pro Motocross has cemented him as one of sport's next stars.
The SMX World Championship series pays out $10 million - $4.5 million is awarded throughout Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship and Pro Motocross Championship sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing while $5.5 million is earned through SMX World Championship Finals.
The event also welcomed some of LA's biggest stars such as Dax Shepard, Stephanie Beatriz, Justin Baldoni and Tiffani Thiessen who showed their support for this exciting sport on two-wheels.
The 2024 Supercross ticket pre-sale begins Monday October 3rd at 10am ET for preferred customers and will run through Monday October 9th while tickets for all Supercross and Pro Motocross races will become available for sale to public on Tuesday October 10th at 10am ET in each subsequent time zone via Ticketmaster or online at SupercrossLIVE or promotocross websites respectively.
SMX World Championship Playoff and Final dates, locations and venues will be announced at Round 1 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross series at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim California on January 5th 2024.
