What: | Applications are being accepted for the City of San José's Cannabis Equity Business Academy beginning in the spring of 2023. |

Background: | The City of San José's Cannabis Equity program provides opportunities for those more likely to have been disproportionately impacted by previous cannabis prohibition laws to have access to employment and entrepreneurship in the legal cannabis industry. The Academy offers a comprehensive program that includes business education, financial planning, and mentorship to support aspiring cannabis entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities. The City of San José will accept up to 90 individuals to the Academy and will reserve up to 10 retail cannabis registrations to qualified individuals who complete the Academy. |
