ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - Californer -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that California Partner Steffi Gascón Hafen (https://www.swlaw.com/people/steffi_gascon) has been re-elected for a second term as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Orange County Head Start, Inc. (http://www.ochsinc.org/) Hafen has been a board member since 2016, having served as Secretary and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors before first being elected as Chairman in 2019.

Hafen is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, California Board of Legal Specialization. She is a partner of the firm's Private Client Services and General Federal Tax practice groups. Hafen's practice is concentrated in tax, trust, and estate matters with emphasis in estate planning, trust and probate administration, and estate and gift taxation. She received her L.L.M. in Taxation from Loyola Law School, her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and her B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Earlier this year Hafen relocated to lead the opening of the firm's new San Diego location, expanding Snell & Wilmer's presence in California. Hafen keeps an ongoing presence in both Orange County and Los Angeles and continues to serve clients and communities throughout Southern California.

Hafen was selected by the ABA as an On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Honoree in 2019. In 2018 and 2019 she has been recognized as a Top Latino Lawyer by Latino Leaders Magazine and has been named as a Southern California Super Lawyers, Rising Star since 2018. Hafen also sits on the board of directors for Boy & Girls Clubs of Long Beach and was previously on the board of directors for the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association. She has been published in the areas of tax and estate planning and has spoken to various organizations, including the ABA and the National Diversity Council.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program designed to meet the educational, emotional, social, health, and nutritional needs of children and families. The program encompasses much more than what is generally thought of as a preschool program. The overall goal of the organization is to bring about a greater degree of "social competence" to children and their families.
