SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Californer -- The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is hosting its 5th Annual Gala on Saturday, November 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. The evening features gourmet cuisine, live entertainment and auction opportunities. The theme this year is "The Future is Bright."
Proceeds from the evening go to a number of YMCA programs.
--Find My Genius is a five-week, no-cost achievement gap program for low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level. It is also offered year-round in the Moorpark and Simi Valley Unified School Districts.
--Safety Around Water teaches children water safety and basic swimming skills at no cost.
--Youth and Government provides high school youth with hands-on opportunities to experience government and become civically engaged, responsible adults.
--Inclusive programming for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (partnering with Tri-Counties Regional Center).

"Every year, the Y provides no-cost programs for hundreds of youth and families throughout the community," says Ronnie Stone, YMCA CEO. "No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. Fundraising events like the gala make this possible."
Emceeing the event is Elex Michaelson, anchor at KTTV-TV/Fox 11 in Los Angeles.
The major sponsors for the evening are the accounting firm HCVT, LLP, Seth and Jolyn Haye, AmaWaterways and Amoroso Companies.
The YMCA is a nonprofit organization serving Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Agoura Hills and Moorpark. It is committed to building positive relationships, impacting lives and strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living programs and social responsibility.
