The SSL 4064G+ in Studio A is the centerpiece of Hybrid's recording studios
SANTA ANA, Calif. - May 23, 2019 - Californer -- Since opening in Winter 2013, the centerpiece of Studio A at Hybrid Studios has always been the SSL 4064G+, and the console has an amazing history that led up to its current home in Orange County. The console was a staple at Hit Factory, Trackin' Place, Stretch Music, Soho Music, Cornerstone, and Woodland Ranch recording studios where it was integral to the recording of countless classic records. Notable artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Baby Face, Paul Simon, and Bruce Springsteen are part of its rich history stretching back several decades.
Regarded as one of the best mixing consoles ever made, the 4000G+ is also uniquely known for Ultimation, or moving fader automation, and Total Recall. Hybrid's SSL features a left-hand patch bay, plasma metering, 32 x E242 EQ, 32 x G292 EQ, and has been retrofitted with a modern Atomic Instruments power supply.

The SSL in Studio A also has one of the first commercially available integrated Tangerine interfaces from THD Labs. The Tangerine is an SSL automation interface, housed in a 2U rack-mount unit designed to replace the original SSL computer and allow for easier console recall in addition to the ability of using DAWs to control fader automation. It's a fantastic blending of new age technology that drastically improves the workflow of the classic analog console.
