CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - Californer -- TVS Television Network, the fourth oldest broadcast TV network in the USA, has named Mike Markwell as their Programming Director. Markwell, a veteran media executive, will work with independent TV producers seeking to place shows on the 40 TVS Micro Channels available at WatchYour.TV, powered by Tulix.
TVS Micro Channels are 24/7 ad supported, free to view post cable networks. Currently there are 40 such channels in six channel bundles.... TVS Sports Networks, TVS Home Shopping Networks, TVS Classic TV Networks, TVS Classic Movie Networks, TVS Kids + Family Networks, and TVS Lifestyle Networks are featured on the service.
Michael Markwell is a 23 year veteran of the radio and television business as an account executive, sales manager, program director, marketing director, producer, syndicator and distributor with stints at Blue Chip Radio, Clear Channel. Mike is also a founder and sales manager of Louisville's first hip hop radio station Hot 104 and program director and sales manager for WYCS TV.

While at WYCS TV Michael formed Markwell Media Productions in 2002 to produced original content for WYCS TV. Shows included the long running kids program What's Up Spike hosted by internationally known comedian Spike Davis as well as Got Musica, Noche De Salsa, Got Musica Plus, Estelle's Paradise and Studio Mix which he then began to syndicate and distribute these programs domestically and internationally. In 2003 Michael began representing other independent producers with an emphasis on,multicultural, lifestyle, travel, golf and alternative sports. Michael has distributed over 60 titles
domestically and internationally on many platforms and was a pioneer in providing content for wireless, devices. Titles include Latin Eyes, Caribbean Escapes, Pacific Fusion, Rolling Art, Black Life in Japan, Money TV, Insider Exclusive, Girls of Stare etc.
Prior to his career in radio and television Michael had a 10 year career in the horse racing industry as marketing director, and special events director and group sales for Churchill Downs, Pompano Harness Track and Tampa Bay Downs. He was elected as the first President of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Sports and Recreation Task Force. Mike was also elected by his peers to the Board of the Broward County Hotel Sales and Marketing Association.
