SAN DIEGO - Californer -- What if you could see dangerous hazards before you encountered them?

What Can Kill Me is a new location-based safety app currently in development that aims to help hikers, campers, travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and everyday explorers identify potential hazards before they become emergencies.

Today, creator Michael Harlow, founder of The Adventure Travelers, is inviting the public to try the latest interactive demo and provide honest feedback about whether this is an app people would actually use.

"This is not a finished product," said Harlow. "It's an opportunity for people to help shape something that could make outdoor adventures safer. I want honest opinions—tell me what works, what doesn't, and whether this is something you would actually use."

The current demonstration showcases the concept behind the app, including interactive hazard mapping and the ability to explore different types of potential dangers. Future versions are planned to include community-reported hazards, real-time alerts, expanded hazard categories, and additional safety features.

Beta Testers Wanted

The public is encouraged to explore the demo and answer a few simple questions:

• Would you download and use this app?
• Which features do you like the most?
• What would make it more useful?
• What hazards or features are missing?
• Is the app intuitive and easy to understand?

Because the project is still under active development, users should expect occasional glitches, incomplete features, or interface changes. Feedback from early testers will directly influence future development.

Important: This is a technology demonstration only. It is not the final product and should not be relied upon for safety decisions. The app is currently being refined, and all feedback is appreciated.
