The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental global entity with a membership of 165 national standards bodies. ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard recognized for managing risks to the security of information published by ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization.
