Bellflower Connect Bridges the Digital Divide: City Partners with ICC Networking for Broadband
LOS ANGELES - Californer -- BELLFLOWER, CA — Free Wi-Fi is now available in Downtown Bellflower. The City of Bellflower is proud to announce Bellflower Connect, an expansive framework of specialized wired and wireless technology which, once fully installed, will provide free internet connectivity for all Bellflower residents, businesses, and visitors. ICCN and city staff are actively working on completing this new smart initiative through the use of indoor and outdoor access points positioned throughout the city, which will provide high-speed wireless access for all smart devices and laptops within the city boundaries. The installation process will happen in four (4) phases over several months. Phase one (1) launched with the installation of the first wireless tower in Downtown Bellflower, and the network will soon cover the surrounding neighborhoods.

"Bellflower Connect will allow residents and businesses to stay updated on the news, keep in touch with family and friends, and have fun surfing the web," said Mayor Sonny R. Santa Ines. "Many families can save a little on their monthly household expenses by using the City's secured network at no cost."
The City also plans to offer free in-home broadband access modems to eligible households in Bellflower. These modems will amplify the wireless signal from the network into a home – giving eligible households a free, high-speed internet connection at no additional cost.
This program is made possible with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. For more information on Bellflower Connect, visit www.bellflower.org/connect.
"ICC Networking is happy to be an enabling force in such an innovative program to bridging the digital divide in the City of Bellflower, California," said Keith M. Alexis, CEO of ICCN.
