~ Sacramento - Governor Gavin Newsom has made several appointments today, December 6, 2024. These appointments include Clint Kellum as Chief Deputy Director at the California Department of Cannabis Control, Yvonne Dorantes as Assistant Deputy Director of Legislative and Government Affairs at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, Robert Koji Kumpulainien as Deputy Director of Service Innovation at the Office of Data and Innovation, and Jarrett Krumrei as Lead Product Manager at the Office of Data and Innovation.

Clint Kellum, a resident of Sacramento, has been appointed as Chief Deputy Director at the California Department of Cannabis Control. He brings with him a wealth of experience in various government positions. Kellum has previously served as the Chief Deputy Executive Director at California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank since 2021. He also held multiple positions at the Department of Finance from 2011 to 2021, including Assistant Program Budget Manager and Principal Program Budget Analyst II/III. Prior to that, he held positions with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2008 to 2011. Kellum also has experience in the private sector as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from California State University, Sacramento.

Yvonne Dorantes, a resident of Sacramento, has been appointed as Assistant Deputy Director for Legislative and Government Affairs at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. She brings with her a diverse background in government and public service. Dorantes has previously served as Assistant Deputy Director for Board and Bureau Relations at the California Department of Consumer Affairs since 2022. She also held various positions at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services from 2018 to 2022, including Senior Emergency Services Coordinator and Policy Analyst. Dorantes also has experience working for an assemblymember's office and in higher education. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Robert Koji Kumpulainien, a resident of Fair Oaks, has been appointed as Deputy Director of Service Innovation at the Office of Data and Innovation. He brings with him a strong background in technology and government. Kumpulainien has previously served as State Web Services Manager at the Department of Technology since 2023. He also held positions at the Franchise Tax Board from 2010 to 2020, including Information Technology Supervisor II and Senior Information Systems Analyst. Kumpulainien holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from California State University, Sacramento.
