Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach City Health Officer Dr. Cliff Okada has issued a rain advisory for the city's recreational beaches and bays after rainfall in the past 24 hours.
The Health Department said runoff from storm drains and rivers can reach beaches after significant rain and create unhealthy conditions. It advises avoiding recreational swimming areas for three days after a rainstorm ends. The advisory will be extended if rain continues.
