Contextual AI's State-of-the-Art Reranker Coming to Snowflake Cortex AI

SAN FRANCISCO, June 3, 2025 ~ At Snowflake's annual user conference, Snowflake Summit 2025, Contextual AI, the Enterprise AI company, made a major announcement. The company revealed that its state-of-the-art reranker model will now be available as a first-party model in Cortex Search. This integration will allow joint customers to enhance their retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions with the industry's most accurate reranking capabilities, all within Snowflake's performant infrastructure. This move also ensures data security and allows for payment with Snowflake credits.

According to Douwe Kiela, CEO of Contextual AI, this integration will make it easier for enterprises to improve their retrieval quality without the added expense and complexity of managing models and infrastructure. He also emphasized that this partnership with Snowflake will maintain the high level of security and governance that customers expect from the platform.

Dwarak Rajagopal, Vice President and Head of AI Engineering at Snowflake, highlighted the importance of retrieval quality in today's increasingly sophisticated AI applications.
